Is it Time to Undergo Eyelid Surgery?

Your eyelids are constantly in motion, and the skin is very delicate and flexible – and prone to aging. If your eyelid skin has aged, which is inevitable with time, the upper eyelid can begin to sag, obscuring some of the beauty of your eyes or even affecting your peripheral vision if extreme. This aesthetic problem can be fully resolved with eyelid surgery, in which a precise amount of skin is removed through an incision in the natural crease of the eye, revealing more of your eye and restoring the look of youth and vitality.

What Can Eyelid Surgery Do for My Look?

A custom eyelid surgery, when performed by a master of the art of plastic surgery, can address any of the following aesthetic issues:

  • Sagging upper eyelids
  • Puffy eyelids
  • Obscured vision
  • Hooded eyelids
  • Bulges beneath the eyes

Your Eyelid Surgery Experience What To Expect?

Our team will do everything possible to keep you comfortable from start to finish. You will arrive for your surgery, and anesthesia (local and intravenous) will be administered for your comfort.

Once the area is numbed, the incisions are placed with ultimate care, and a tiny sliver of tissue is removed.

In some cases, excess fat is gently removed to treat bulging eyelids. Once the area is corrected, surgical glue or sutures are applied to keep the eyelid stable during healing. The incision is in the natural crease of your eyelid, and once healed, will be virtually invisible. When your surgery is complete, you can return home, driven by another person, to rest and recover.

Recovery Time How Long Will It Take?

After eyelid surgery, you can expect about ten days to two weeks for your skin to heal and any residual swelling or bruising to fade away. You will need to sleep on your back, with your head elevated in the early stage of recovery, and must avoid any vigorous physical activities until Dr. Banerji advises you it is safe. Keeping to mild exercises, such as walking, helps you to avoid putting any stress on the incisions and will allow your skin to heal quickly and smoothly.
