Revitalize Your Neck with a Lift

The skin on the neck is prone to wrinkling, sagging, and the development of vertical bands as it is constantly in motion and exposed to the elements. The look of sagging or creased skin and fatty deposits affect your facial appearance, and a neck lift can create a dramatic improvement – firm, sculpted, and youthful.

A Customized Approach to Neck Rejuvenation

Our neck lift in League City, TX, begins with a small, inconspicuous incision directly below the chin (platysmaplasty) or in front of the ear lobes, looping behind the ears, ending at the back of the neck within the hairline (cervicoplasty). Excess sagging skin is trimmed away and lifted, and the loose muscles that cause visible, prominent bands are tightened if necessary. In some cases, it is required to perform only one of the two procedures. Excess fat is removed with liposuction when needed, restoring youthful definition to your jawline.

A neck lift may take two to four hours to perform under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation and is typically an outpatient procedure. The dressings protecting incisions and protecting the newly-reshaped neck will be removed after a few days, and the sutures in about seven to ten days. You will have several follow-up appointments with Dr. Banerji to ensure your recovery is fast and successful.

Rest, Recover, and Watch the Magic Happen

The swelling and bruising from a neck lift are a natural body reaction, which fades after about ten days. Applying cold compresses and keeping your head elevated for the first 48 hours following surgery help minimize swelling.

To speed your recovery and avoid putting stress on the repaired tissues, avoid turning or twisting your neck for the first few days after your surgery, and sleep on your back with your head elevated. Take gentle walks, and avoid any vigorous motions.

You will be kept comfortable with prescription medication in the early stages of healing. You should feel ready to return to social activities or work within about two weeks, with no strenuous exercise or physical activities for four to six weeks.

These aesthetic issues can be resolved with a custom neck lift, restoring the smooth, firm, defined look of youth – and leading to a look that is far more youthful overall. Is it time for you?

We invite you to meet with our exceptional team of professionals at Banerji Plastic Surgery to discuss the best way to enhance your look – we offer both surgical and non-surgical procedures to ensure you have access to world-class care.
